Occupational Therapist for Home Care and Special Housing
Are you an occupational therapist with an interest in home care and special housing? Then you might be the one we are looking for! We in the central unit for licensed personnel are expanding our team with another occupational therapist.
Currently, six occupational therapists work in the unit closely with eight physiotherapists, twelve district nurses, and one nursing assistant. The existing workgroup is very experienced with broad and in-depth knowledge. In your work, you will assist citizens both in special housing (SÄBO) and in home care. Our central unit serves two private SÄBO (Bangårdsgatan and Myran), three municipal SÄBO (Sollidenvägen 64C, Trossgränd, and Solsången), as well as citizens receiving home care from the municipality's four central home care groups (Marielund, Erikslund, Staden Övre, and Staden Nedre).
The occupational therapists have a weekly meeting for case reviews and common matters. This provides an opportunity to discuss more complex cases in a group. Additionally, professional development meetings for all occupational therapists in the municipality are organized 2-3 times per semester for skills development purposes. During these meetings, new working methods, routines, or aids can be discussed, or other training can be held. In other words, there are good opportunities for development in the role.
The position is permanent, full-time, and you will work Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00. We have annual working hours, which allows for flexibility in working hours, provided that the work permits it.
Your New Job
We are located in the large brick building at Österängsparken in central Östersund. You will have your own office space in a larger office room that you share with 4-5 colleagues, where occupational therapists and physiotherapists sit together, promoting collaboration. The premises are nice, pleasant, and of high standard, which contributes significantly to the work environment. There are quiet rooms to enter if you need to work focused or alone. A major advantage of the premises is that the central home care groups are in the same building, facilitating collaboration regarding the supervision of home care staff.
As an occupational therapist, you will plan, lead, and carry out rehabilitation work. You are also the one who assesses needs and creates conditions for individuals to live as meaningful a life as possible by providing the necessary support measures. The work includes prescribing aids and guiding staff and relatives. In your work, you will have close collaboration with physiotherapists and district nurses, as well as close cooperation with other licensed personnel and basic staff within the area's home care group(s) and the special housing we work with.
